Top Hat - Aldwych Theatre, 17th May 2013

The group all met in the foyer of the theatre, this was a snug experience.
We all had excellent seats in the stalls  rows C and D, fantastic views of the stage.
The lights dropped and we all settled down to see the show.

Shades of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, the dancing and singing were excellent.
The ladies costumes where classy and very reflective of the era. Everyone had their favourite item and there were quiet a few to choose from.

Everyone was very enthusiastic during the interval and looking forward to the remainder of the show.
The dance routines were exceptional, the singing was engaging and the humour was catching.

There was particular interest in the beach scene in Venice, nothing to do with  the skimpy outfits on the males chorus.

It was soon over and we all made out way to the underground home.

This is a well recommended show to see.

Our next outing to be decided, but Top Hat has set the bar high.

Sunday 10 March 2013

Shrek The Muscial

2013
This was the first outing of the newly formed Theatre club.
There is no formal membership, just a liking for all forms of stage art. Members put forward suggestions for shows  and Viv our Treasurer has kindly sorted out the tickets for us.

Sunday the 10th February, dawned dreadfully cold, windy and miserable. Everyone made their own travel arrangements, however, a number of us met up and braved the underground.

It was a matinee full house and we were soon seated comfortable in our royal circle sets.
'Shrek' is a well known story and film, everyone settled in for a fun and very enjoyable afternoons entertainment.  The feel good factor was well deserved and during the rousing encore many of the ladies could be seen bopping and singing along.

Our next planned trip is Friday 17th May show  'Top Hat',
